Shortly after the previous update our location got hit with some pretty nasty weather. The doors and windows have all been installed! The front doors are reminiscent of closet doors, but with lots of light. The lofts are way more spacious than I had really been expecting. There’s going to be plenty of room for stuff up here!
Visited the site this morning to meet with the builder and the fireplace installer. They’re both pleased to be putting in a wood burning stove instead of the big, ostentatious propane thing. Construction on the ADU is at the point where we’re about ready for a plumber to show up and start putting in the pipes that are going to live in the walls. Sinks and laundry are easy - you just put your taps at a place and then when it’s time to install a fixture… Continue reading More Progress
The ADU now has a subfloor covering the foundation. This probably means that the plumbing and electrical conduit running via what is now the crawlspace is done. Some more concrete has been poured, and the foundation for the ADU is now curing. So nice! Not only this, but there’s also a pad for a big shed, so maybe we can start storing some things indoors. W00t!
